Mengenang “Band of Brother”
Band of Brother, film miniseri tentang Perang Dunia II yang mulai ditayangkan oleh HBO tahun 2001 dengan produser Steven Spielberg dan Tom Hanks. “Band of Brother” menceritakan pengalaman Company E (“Easy Company”) dari 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, United States 101st Airborne Division dari saat berlatih, pendaratan di Normandy (D-Day), Operation Market Garden, Pertempuran Bastogne, hingga akhir perang.
Film ini didasarkan pada buku dengan judul sama tulisan ahli sejarah, Stephen Ambrose.
Band of Brother dinominasikan untuk 19 Emmy Award, memenangkan enam diantaranya, termasuk untuk “Outstanding Miniseries”, “Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie, or a Special”, dan “Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or a Dramatic Special”.
Band of Brother juga memenangkan Golden Globe untuk “Best Miniseries, or Motion Picture Made for Television”, American Film Institute, Peabody Award.
Khusus untuk Band of Brother episode 6 (Bastogne) memenangkan 2003 Writers Guild Award (Television, Adapted Long Form).
